  3. It’s okay to have your notes next to you when you record!
  4. Just start! It will all come together the more you practice.

Ameeta Gangaram
I’m Melissa. Welcome to the show. It’s so great to have you here today talking us through the power of video.

Ameeta Gangaram
So I thought that it would be great if you could tell us a bit more about yourself and what it is you do and how we’re going to get started today.

Melissa Groom
Okay, thank you for having me Ameeta It’s great to be here.

Melissa Groom
So I started back in 2009. Believe it or not, I went to a course and a lady said, You need to know video.

Melissa Groom
It was going to be the next best thing and I didn’t have a business at the time, but I was like, Okay, I will sign up and I will do a

Melissa Groom
video cross, but I have got no idea what I’m going to. Yeah, so my son actually started a YouTube channel while he was having a kidney transplant at Brisbane, and he’s doing very well today. By the way, he’s 23.

Melissa Groom
But he started a YouTube channel and in a matter of weeks comes running in saying Mom, mom, check this out is a guy on America saying Look, look at Nick sucks

Melissa Groom
YouTube channel, go checking and look man, there’s another one in the

Melissa Groom
Wow, that was 11. I was like, I need to learn this YouTube thing. So I got on YouTube and I’m looking at looking at my video course and it said I

Melissa Groom
came across Gary Vaynerchuk going the wine library TV and I was astounded by 40,000 views on a video that says, you must drink this bottle of wine with this food and I’m like,

Melissa Groom
anyway, I spent most of my time at Running Mcdonald House, speaking to all of the parents while we lived there for a couple of months, and it really broke my heart

Melissa Groom
speaking to the parents and listening to their stories and not really knowing if they’re going to take their children home,

Melissa Groom
you know? And I sat

Melissa Groom
on my grade one day and I said, Well, how can I start this online business that I’m going to need to have because my son is going to be in recovery for who knows how long.

Melissa Groom
And how can I help these parents who are feeling isolated and alone away from their family and friends as I was as well?

Melissa Groom
Well,

Melissa Groom
people watch a video about what wine goes with, what food. Maybe they watch a video about parenting advice.

Melissa Groom
And I could create a web TV show and give some parenting advice, but not a minute.

Melissa Groom
I’m not a parenting expert and I am the last person I would go to for advice because I still got my mother in

Melissa Groom
law. Can

Melissa Groom
you give me a script?

Melissa Groom
Because she’s like the hard taskmaster and I’m a real softy. And anyway, so it’s like, next thing I know, I get this idea.

Melissa Groom
You don’t have to be the expert.

Melissa Groom
You could form a panel of experts.

Melissa Groom
Yes. So I jumped on Linked in Women’s Network Australia.

Melissa Groom
Yeah, it

Melissa Groom
was the only networking group I knew at the time and I put in on their group.

Melissa Groom
I am putting together a panel of experts for a parenting TV show.

Melissa Groom
Here is my email address if you’d like to apply.

Melissa Groom
Okay, well,

Melissa Groom
and then I got all these applications, and I asked a couple of people who I knew who were experts in finance, because I was a mortgage broker

Melissa Groom
before,

Melissa Groom
and and somebody else. Actually, one lady came to mind.

Melissa Groom
I remember seeing something that she put online, how to get your children to beg you to go to bed.

Melissa Groom
So I contacted her as well. So it’s like the others, the others I didn’t know, and I just interviewed them on. I think

Melissa Groom
it was okay,

Melissa Groom
Google Hangouts or something. I can’t even remember what we used back in those days. Yeah, look, I’m only just done a short video marketing course, but we’ll learn as we go

Melissa Groom
and I’ll teach you what I know and that we can grow businesses. So these were women that came on that had established businesses, were already leaders in their industry, already had a

Melissa Groom
growing

Melissa Groom
email database. You know

Melissa Groom
that you.

Melissa Groom
I was very new at Facebook. I used it for friends.

Melissa Groom
Yes, but I remember the first day.

Melissa Groom
I’m like, right now I better do it welcome video because I’ve got all the experts have given me their videos.

Melissa Groom
I better do a welcome video for the show to put up on YouTube.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yeah.

Melissa Groom
So I got my laptop and I put it up on the ironing board and I pulled the pole behind me and I got the one that I had because I was

Melissa Groom
a mom that worked from home. You know, we work in our tricky decks and stuff exactly that very sort of inappropriate dress and stuck some flowers.

Melissa Groom
There had no lighting, no microphone, nothing. It was just using my webcam. Yeah, and I started walking towards the laptop and it was just

Melissa Groom
like, my god, stress. And

Melissa Groom
it’s like when I break out in the lather of sweat and I’m

Melissa Groom
like, my gosh.

Melissa Groom
And I had planned to do that video first thing in the morning when the kids have gone after school.

Melissa Groom
Okay, yet. I avoided that laptop like the plague that day and I cleaned up from top to toe and at 10 to 3 and I went, my God, the kids are

Melissa Groom
going to be home soon. I’ve got to get this video done.

Melissa Groom
yeah, videos have never done a video before. I launch my web TV shot.

Ameeta Gangaram
Wow, that is amazing. So you don’t need years and years of training and experience to do it right?

Melissa Groom
All you need is a good ironing board to put your laptop on. Well, these days you just need your phone.

Melissa Groom
There have been occasions where it wasn’t locked in and then next minute I just caught my laptop.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, I have done that too.

Melissa Groom
Yes I did just a warning for that, but yeah. So then people just started to ask me How do you start a web TV show?

Melissa Groom
Melissa, And I’d already two years after we did the show. For two years we put out 8 videos every single week so 450 is.

Melissa Groom
It was huge. I learned to edit all the videos, nothing fancy but just to trim them and put a front in a back on them.

Melissa Groom
In those days you had to upload a video and go to bed overnight. It would be so slow,

Melissa Groom
the internet. And we would do 8 a week.

Melissa Groom
a week. I was like doing it and eventually I got a VA in India to help me do it.

Melissa Groom
But after two years I just needed to get out of the house. So that’s when I started my women’s networking group to help other parents mums in business.

Melissa Groom
Then I realized so many of them were struggling to get their message out. And then I thought then what I know about video and that’s where.

Melissa Groom
Then created my 30 day video challenge which I ran for 7 years,

Ameeta Gangaram
7 years. Wow, that’s a long time.

Ameeta Gangaram
And with doing it for that long, What were the highlights over those seven years? With the 30 day challenge?

Melissa Groom
It has to be the biggest joy that I get, obviously when I obviously see my clients doing their videos online, but you know, some of them on TV now, and they’ve

Melissa Groom
said to me that I would not have even put myself forward to go on this aviation.

Melissa Groom
Yeah, if I had not learned how to articulate my message and be confident

Melissa Groom
in front of the camera. Now I’ve had people coming to my program who have been experts for 30 years, and they speak to 10,000 people in a crowd, but get them out of a video camera

Melissa Groom
and it’s totally different.

Melissa Groom
It’s totally different. And also she’s like, I’m a psychic median. I know what I do, but actually, you know, then sit down into like, one minute video that is harder than

Melissa Groom
talking for a long time. So it’s learning how to structure a video and make your message sent.

Ameeta Gangaram
And that’s a good point is that you do actually need to put a bit of effort in terms of learning how to structure it right?

Ameeta Gangaram
What would be your tips around structure for video? If we’re talking about business owners and they’re wanting to get out there and promote their business online, are there any quick tips that you could share?

Melissa Groom
So we want to actually start with a hook because, you know, we scroll like three miles a day on our phone.

Melissa Groom
And we have an attention span less than a goldfish.

Ameeta Gangaram
I know really, we do these days more so than ever. I think

Melissa Groom
I think it’s important to put a hook in the beginning. So that’s they’re asking a question, you know, Have you ever felt?

Melissa Groom
Because we’re in the business of emotions as well? So it’s actually letting people know that we’re about to address the problem that they have, which will make them want to stick

Melissa Groom
around.

Melissa Groom
Or you can give a statistic in the video.

Melissa Groom
You can use it because people love to be around people who are funny and having man.

Melissa Groom
And also, you know, there’s so many trends that everyone’s like, I’ve got to do dancing, sinking and gosh, like, I’m not here to judge or put anyone down because I think

Melissa Groom
there’s some really talented people out. There were amazing dot leaves and all that sort of stuff.

Melissa Groom
But for me, I I relate to and it could just be my age. It could be my demographic.

Melissa Groom
It could be my background. You’ve got to know your target market

Ameeta Gangaram
exactly.

Melissa Groom
And I want to if I’m learning from you.

Melissa Groom
And I see a video of someone in my news feed and their lip synching telling me like some marketing tips, and yet it’s Ameeta that comes on and says

Melissa Groom
My tip for you today is this blah, blah blah and you. I’m probably going to resonate with you, but that’s just me.

Melissa Groom
I did try the dancing and that, but so yeah, I know, why am I feeling forced to do what everyone is doing?

Melissa Groom
And then I realized that no, a reel does not mean you have to do the lip synching or the dancing.

Melissa Groom
It is just the actual name of the type  short form of video, on these platforms, Facebook and Instagram and Tiktok now.

Melissa Groom
But it doesn’t mean you have to dance and sing.

Ameeta Gangaram
I totally agree with you because I have so many of my clients, you know, that come to me and the so fearful of getting in front of the

Ameeta Gangaram
camera and putting themselves out there because they see all of those things on social media and they think that, I have to be doing the same thing if I am going

Ameeta Gangaram
to reach my audience. But like you said, Melissa, it’s about first of all, knowing who your audience is and what they would appreciate and stop scrolling for and testing it out

Ameeta Gangaram
as well. You know, because I’ve done like you did. You know, I’ve done the lip syncs, and I’ll do them occasionally, just as a bit of fun now and then.

Ameeta Gangaram
But I know that my audience rarely resonates with hearing me speaking and giving them that information verbally rather than them having to even read.

Ameeta Gangaram
You know these things that you’re pointing to on a screen as well. So I truly do believe that that’s important.

Ameeta Gangaram
I love that you mentioned the point about having a hook at the beginning. I think that a lot of people forget that and that is so important to remember to do

Ameeta Gangaram
right at the beginning. Yes, and for businesses that I have a lot of clients and our audience is primarily coaches and women in the health industry.

Ameeta Gangaram
When it comes to starting to use video as a form of engaging with their audience. Where would you recommend they start?

Melissa Groom
I’m not going to preach and say get over yourself and just get on camera

Melissa Groom
because

Melissa Groom
to me is not really helpful. The thing is, the reason why it’s scary is because it’s unfamiliar.

Melissa Groom
So my encouragement to you, there’s a couple of things you can do is start off either interviewing or jumping on the Zoom and having a virtual coffee with your girlfriend.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yeah, that’s a great idea.

Melissa Groom
So I’m just familiar with because when you first get on there, you’re looking at me, my god, go under there, you know, like in the and it’s not about you,

Melissa Groom
but you do, you’ve got to get open and it takes a while. So once a year, though, how you look on camera, how you sound, all of that sort of stuff.

Melissa Groom
then you can then progress to video. So I will do virtual cash ups, attend even online networking groups. There’s

Melissa Groom
online these

Melissa Groom
days. Yes, I know people say we’re zoomed out, but honestly there’s so much potential for you to reach a global audience online that you’re crazy.

Melissa Groom
So yes, showing up on online as much as you can, even to just do a little, just grab your phone, do a little phone and say, hi Dally.

Melissa Groom
I just wanted to say, I love you and I’m so proud of you and send it to them via

Melissa Groom
Messenger.

Melissa Groom
Imagine that.

Ameeta Gangaram
That’s such a great idea and the impact I’m sure would be so much more than you just sending them that quick text. Great

Melissa Groom
So I could send a little message after meeting someone. I started when I would attend the event like after this event I quickly do a message to meet and say Hi Ameeta

Melissa Groom
Thanks so much for interviewing me on your podcast and web TV show. It was really great to see you again.

Melissa Groom
I hope to catch up with you in person real soon. Take care. Done –  a little thank you video.

Melissa Groom
Simple, but you’re going

Melissa Groom
to remember me like because I did that

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, guaranteed that’s going to stay in my memory.

Melissa Groom
Yeah, people remember how you make them feel and and so the other thing is, you know, ask your friend, like let’s jump on Zoom and let’s practice maybe some interview.

Melissa Groom
I’m going to give you some questions that you could ask me. So yes, so that if I do get asked to go on a podcast or web TV show, I have

Melissa Groom
practiced and I have rehearsed my answers. So much so that I don’t get stuck in my blank blank out because I’m nervous and I’m hot and sweaty in communicate my list

Melissa Groom
and I just I can idiot on That’s another thing you can do and also you can create your own Facebook group you just Facebook group inside there you can either upload

Melissa Groom
your videos or you can go live inside your group with your sign and also with your computer and

Melissa Groom
just

Melissa Groom
see where are the different buttons that I have to press. What are these different features that you’re not doing it out on your main profile or your main business

Melissa Groom
And that way you can.

Melissa Groom
Even when I was competent on camera, I would steal when Face Live was first coming out.

Melissa Groom
And I’m thinking now I want to go live for you. But hey, I’m not sure that lighting is the best.

Melissa Groom
I’m not sure about the sound. Hey, I’m going to go live first inside my test Facebook

Melissa Groom
Look at that.

Melissa Groom
Yep. Looks good right now. I’m going to go live on on my business page on my profile.

Ameeta Gangaram
I love that idea. And I did that when Facebook Live started to become a thing as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
I did that exact thing of just setting up a private little test group. And because the buttons are all over the place and it’s tricky to know what, when are you

Ameeta Gangaram
feeling already stressed and anxious about putting yourself out there? You know, it’s good to just get familiar with as much as you can.

Ameeta Gangaram
Do you recommend writing out what you want to say?

Melissa Groom
Yes, I do now, because when I first started doing videos, I’d do this great video and then I’d go.

Melissa Groom
I forgot what to say. My name, you know? And that was before they had actions that you can add afterwards.

Melissa Groom
So I was like, Damn it. So I get a white board and I’d put it up on a chair behind the computer and I’d write book introduction, you know, tip, hold action, even if they’re those four

Melissa Groom
things. Yes, yeah,

Melissa Groom
I had to just embed Cat need to introduce myself or I do a great video and don’t forget the cold action. I was like, yes

Melissa Groom
I can put it in there, but it doesn’t look so good when it’s sort of edited in there

Melissa Groom
in your car.

Melissa Groom
It’s not the end of the world. If you do

Melissa Groom
not.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, that’s a

Ameeta Gangaram
good idea.

Melissa Groom
Bullet points are excellent ideals and especially like if you want to quote a statistic, you know yes,

Melissa Groom
and

Melissa Groom
you like writing a statistic and you like, I can’t quite recall who it’s from or the exact same.

Melissa Groom
If you put it out there on a video and you’re like, Whoops, that’s wrong. I’ll delete it.

Melissa Groom
But as we know, deleted videos are still a certain period of time.

Ameeta Gangaram
Exactly.

Melissa Groom
Yes. And just when you think you know all how utilize everything and where all the buttons are, they’ll go.

Melissa Groom
I remember we’re doing that national International Women’s Day summit. So I interviewed 44 women in five different countries, and the very night before was massacre in New Zealand.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes,

Melissa Groom
and overnight overnight they changed it. So then there was a delay

Ameeta Gangaram
on Facebook was delaying everything.

Melissa Groom
We didn’t know that when we went live at 9 o’clock and people are message and saying What’s not showing up, where is it like, Yeah, So then you start to get in the panic and you think something’s

Melissa Groom
wrong gone

Melissa Groom
wrong. No, I’m not that techy that I understand all this technology where,

Melissa Groom
all these features are, But anyway, you’ve just gotta roll with the punches. Like I remember when Face life came out and you know, you could interview people on your personal profile.

Melissa Groom
Yes, I like people and you know, if someone would come on and then it would glitch you out and they would have bad reception and be up and you think, my

Melissa Groom
God, how embarrassing. Like I look so unprofessional and it’s just like it

Melissa Groom
happens to

Melissa Groom
the biggest,

Melissa Groom
best examples

Melissa Groom
in the world. And so what if it doesn’t work? You can delete it.

Melissa Groom
Sometimes you prep someone to come on and told them everything, and they’ve been on interviews before, and then they get on the go.

Melissa Groom
I can’t see the button to join you, and it’s just somehow there’s a glitch.

Melissa Groom
Yeah, maybe they’re having a menopause moment. I don’t know

Ameeta Gangaram
exactly.

Ameeta Gangaram
These things happen.

Melissa Groom
Now you’re just going to stay calm and you’ve got to do, I guess, like a professional singer, when they forget their notes and and their words, well that you wouldn’t even

Melissa Groom
know because they just repeat the Chorus, or they make up the words in between them.

Ameeta Gangaram
Nobody’s the wiser. And that’s true. You know, that’s such a good point that you only know what it is you wanted to say nobody else has that script in front

Ameeta Gangaram
of them. So if you do make a mistake, you can choose to improvise. And you said, as you said, you could also choose to delete the whole thing.

Ameeta Gangaram
But I think that today, in today’s, what I notice is that people are forgiving, you know, and people realize that you too are human and you make mistakes.

Ameeta Gangaram
And I actually find that people probably appreciated more when you come across as just one of them rather than everything’s just picture perfect and there’s no mistakes

Ameeta Gangaram
I think it resonates better with your audience most of the time.

Melissa Groom
People ask ‘How do I stop the ‘uhms”? Do you do that in real life? It’s okay  but if you’re doing a keynote. No. You do have to be more professional.

Melissa Groom
And there’s a technique

Melissa Groom
to learn with that, to breathe.

Melissa Groom
Even if you forgot your train of thought, you look up to the right and you recall what you were going to say.

Melissa Groom
And often we think when we pause that it’s like these, really long pauses, and really, it’s very, very quick.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, it feels long for us. But yeah, you’re right. It isn’t necessarily that long. And while you’re giving little tips like that, because I love that, you know, looking up to

Ameeta Gangaram
the right and just breathing as well. Are there any other little gems that you could share with our listeners?

Melissa Groom
Yes, well, I often get a big one from women is I really don’t want to do my hair and makeup.

Melissa Groom
right. I get that. We’ve all got so comfortable working from

Melissa Groom
home and

Melissa Groom
I’m not going to say you have to wear makeup. Look. I had flawless skin when I was younger, but I love to wear makeup. I just I’m a real girly girl. You,

Melissa Groom
I like to wear makeup, but that doesn’t mean you have to. If you’re in the health and wellness industry and you never wear makeup fine, don’t wear makeup.

Melissa Groom
Or maybe if you just want to put a little bit of bronzer on to brighten you up, because depending on the wall with the lighting, it can, you can look quite

Melissa Groom
dull. Exactly.

Ameeta Gangaram

Melissa Groom
So we make it all about us. We think that video is all about us and our society, or how I look and how, you know, it’s all this external stuff.

Melissa Groom
When we get out of our head and we drop down into our heart and we come from a place of service and we think about the people who we are serving,

Melissa Groom
who are really struggling right now.

Melissa Groom
They’re at home or wherever they are in the world and they are

Melissa Groom
in pain. Yeah,

Melissa Groom
yeah, they’ve lost hope. They’re about to give up.

Melissa Groom
And this could be a mother who has children.

Melissa Groom
Yes, of course. She watched your video.

Melissa Groom
You gave him hope.

Melissa Groom
You gave her this feeling back inside of her, that maybe she could change your life. You know, we have inspirational speakers, and we have motivational speakers.

Melissa Groom
But the best speakers of all are the transformational speakers who actually make people take action. And if one video or one sentence from one video that you do can change someone’s

Melissa Groom
life, even save their life, then it’s important for you to really get into state before you get on camera and you know, close your eyes to a big, deep breath.

Melissa Groom
ground yourself, know who you are serving and why you are doing this.

Melissa Groom
And then you do remove yourself. And when you’ve done lots of videos, like, you know, it’s really weird that I’m now looking into into a logitech camera.

Melissa Groom
I’m not even looking at me or you, you know. So when I’m making a point, I want to make it to the viewer, but obviously consume.

Melissa Groom
Sometimes I’m looking over at you. I’m not looking at the

Melissa Groom
camera. Yeah,

Melissa Groom
but it’s important, yes, to get into state before you get

Melissa Groom
in front of the camera, zoom etc.

Melissa Groom
Drop into your heart, be of service.

Melissa Groom
And

Melissa Groom
when you get that fire in your belly and you know that many of us have struggled somewhere in our life and gone through life lessons and experiences so that we can then go and teach others

Melissa Groom
so that they don’t need to struggle exactly. Really know your why, why you do what you do.

Melissa Groom
You can’t get out of your own way and you can get on video because you want to reach as many people as you can and help them

Ameeta Gangaram
Exactly. And you’re so right, like you’ve literally just given me goose bumps all over. You know, when you talk about getting into your heart space and grounding yourself and reminding yourself

Ameeta Gangaram
of why you’re doing this, it’s not about me or you. It’s about connecting with somebody else out there that really needs to hear this message at this moment in time.

Ameeta Gangaram
And you know, there’s so much value in that, and there’s so much opportunity for us to make an impact, big or small.

Ameeta Gangaram
And that just then has that ripple effect within the community and people around us as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
So that’s I’m really glad that you shared that and reminded us of the importance to focus on the person on the other side and not us. Yeah, yes, and I would say

Melissa Groom
I always say to people, if you don’t want to do video and your knowledge and expertise, that’s okay because your competitor will would gladly take your customize

Ameeta Gangaram
Exactly. And in today’s world, like video is becoming more and more prevalent. You can’t get away from it and it doesn’t mean you have to.

Ameeta Gangaram
I feel you don’t have to sit there and create our long videos. You know, short, sweet videos can make a huge impact as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
Because like you said, it’s just that one line. One sentence is all you need to make that impact on somebody and transform for them to take action.

Ameeta Gangaram
So, yeah, and on a lighter note, I wanted to ask, what would be your funniest moment you’ve experienced in front of the cameras?

Melissa Groom
Well, I could share with you about a video that I did that, but to get 3,000 views on it.

Melissa Groom
I didn’t spend a lot of time planning. I just thought I’m going to put together a short video with all the objections.

Melissa Groom
Why I can’t do a video.

Melissa Groom
And it was my leading video just on my personal profile to ask people to do my 30 day video challenge.

Melissa Groom
And it was basically like, I can’t do a video today. I need to get my regrowth.

Melissa Groom
Dina, I’m like, I’ll put this hat on. So I tried all these different hats, ones like, Nana, I can’t do that was like, I can’t find a white wall like there’s now nothing else I could

Melissa Groom
just,

Melissa Groom
No, I can’t do video today. I’m feeling blue too, you know, like So then I was like, when out in the backyard, like I’m going to do a video after I

Melissa Groom
do my meditation and I was sitting out on my map, meditating on the lawn and just And then the next one I think I did was I can’t do right now

Melissa Groom
because I really need to go and clean the swilling.

Melissa Groom
So it’s like allergies. These all the feels I told myself for all the objections, why there they can’t do a video.

Melissa Groom
So I just try a little bit of fun with it. You know, I think if you’re not having fun in your business,

Melissa Groom
your business

Ameeta Gangaram
Start exactly exactly. It’s so important that you enjoy and of passionate about what you’re doing. Otherwise it’s a chore, right?

Melissa Groom
Yes.

Ameeta Gangaram
But before we do wrap up, are there any last key takeaway messages you would want to share with our listeners today?

Melissa Groom
Yes, I would like to share just a few statistics around video because hear that, you know, video is the thing that you need to be doing.

Melissa Groom
And we’ve been doing this on I think 2000 and 6 was when YouTube started, but you know, it’s never too late.

Melissa Groom
You haven’t missed the boat. And you know, businesses who use video grow their revenue 49 percent faster.

Melissa Groom
So do you want to grow your business fast or slow? That’s one thing I’ll ask

Melissa Groom
Did you know that a landing page with a video has a conversion rate of up to 80 percent higher than a landing page without a video?

Melissa Groom
Now we keep this a landing page.

Melissa Groom
It’s your Facebook page.

Melissa Groom
your personal profile, your business page.

Melissa Groom
You know, I don’t get your Instagram. Everything linked to there’s all land ranges up there. And what else can I tell you?

Melissa Groom
Viewers retain 95 percent of a message in a video, as opposed to only 10 percent in the text.

Ameeta Gangaram
That’s a massive statistic. 95 percent. Wow.

Melissa Groom
Because we remember the story of the movie.

Melissa Groom
One last thing is 80 percent of people watch on social media from their phone.

Melissa Groom
and if

Melissa Groom
there’s no captions you’re missing out. There’s sticker captions, So that’s why the one minute videos that don’t take long to put the captions on or you’ve got you have other apps like audio clip that you can upload.

Melissa Groom
But once you get used to it, you can just do it while you’re having your cup of tea.

Melissa Groom
And what was the other thing I was going to say about the actions? 80 percent of people will watch the replay.

Melissa Groom
So don’t be so caught up.

Melissa Groom
I only got so many views on his. No one didn’t like it because there’s a lot of people who are lookers, yes, ever like or comment because they just don’t want

Melissa Groom
to be seeing a thing online. It might be at work or they just don’t want to be seen liking something like how translate video or how to your husband or whatever

Melissa Groom
it is you’re talking about, so don’t be caught up in the numbers. I mean, at the end of the day, yes, you want someone you know calling you or booking in

Melissa Groom
with you or downloading your freebie or whatever.

Melissa Groom
I heard so many people go videos don’t work online. You’ve done videos for like two weeks and it’s not going to

Melissa Groom
work. Was one of my girlfriends who now exploded on mine is a top social media marketer. You know those videos all the

Ameeta Gangaram
That’s it. Yeah, it’s the consistency and frequency I feel as well. Your not two weeks.

Ameeta Gangaram
Definitely. No, you have to push through.

Ameeta Gangaram
Those are great tips. Thank you so much and amazing statistics you know and all the more reason to put yourself out there with video and give it a go.

Ameeta Gangaram
Get a friend on Zoom like you said, and you know, practice a little bit. So yeah, it’s a valuable one to

Melissa Groom
For the coaches and businesses in the health industry they can really increase not only their program, their profile, their income and their influence, but having video programs that will increase

Melissa Groom
more perceived value in the marketplace. So if you’re talking to a client and you say yes, I have a program and you have got some worksheets that I’m going to send

Melissa Groom
you as opposed to I have a program and it has there are videos in it that will walk you through a step by step. How to get XYZ result.

Melissa Groom
It’s a much better perceived value because they leave that library of videos for lifetime to go back and re-watch. So you’re every single person has the ability to put together their own online program and

Melissa Groom
if they want to work one to many, then bring them on TV and film it and record it while you’re doing it in a group and net up and sell it

Melissa Groom
as a program. There’s so many ways that you can, you

Melissa Groom
know, utilize all the tools that are out there these days. And yeah, capture those videos.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yeah, you’re right.

Melissa Groom
The other thing I love about Facebook is a lot of people have a love hate relationship with

Melissa Groom
I grew my business on Facebook and I grew a community of clients all around the world through my 30 day video challenge.

Melissa Groom
So I never actually hosted my program on a website I hosted inside the Facebook group. Yes, I’ve got a more than Google Drive and YouTube so that I can.

Melissa Groom
I won’t lose them. But yeah, having that one place for people to come be referred by their clients.

Melissa Groom
They could repeat the program, come back in there, get to know me a little bit better, be dressed up and then want to work with me, you know, in my mentoring.

Melissa Groom
So it’s a great way for you.

Melissa Groom
You people love challenges.

Ameeta Gangaram
They do.

Melissa Groom
Yes, I did number in the last week and City of Magic, Intuition one and a real one, and I can’t remember what the other one was.

Melissa Groom
But yeah, just so I love being in a challenge. And I love the engagement interaction, the networking, the connection with the expert and just seeing how they’re doing it is

Ameeta Gangaram
exactly, you know,

Melissa Groom
Create a challenge.

Melissa Groom
I made more money in my 5 day challenges. Well not now, but when I when I did my two 5 day challenges to create your web TV show.

Melissa Groom
I sold 5 x 2000 dollar programs.

Melissa Groom
from that. And as one knows, cheese making 10 grand than the other way, which is a 97 dollar.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that’s great. And yet it’s such a valuable point about, you know, using Facebook in the right way and building a community there.

Ameeta Gangaram
But and having everybody interacting in that one space, it does make it easy and challenges. I love them.

Ameeta Gangaram
Thank you again. Melissa. It’s been so insightful. I know that I’ve learned so much and I will definitely keep up with my videos and

Ameeta Gangaram
keep putting myself out there and encouraging all our listeners to give it a, yeah, thank you.

Melissa Groom
