Ameeta Gangaram
Now for today’s episode.

Ameeta Gangaram
Hello and welcome to today’s episode where we are going to discuss defining what you bring to your audience.

Ameeta Gangaram
Have you ever stopped to consider what your reason for being is?

Ameeta Gangaram
Or as the Japanese like to call Ikigai. This word really captures the essence of living with purpose of knowing your reason for being.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s more than just what we do for a living. It’s the sum of all the joys we experience in our everyday life that leads to a more fulfilling life as a whole.

Ameeta Gangaram
Using this approach for our business and understanding. At the core, what our reason for being is helps take our passion and professional calling and makes them our mission in life.

Ameeta Gangaram
Because our mission in life will become clear when we can identify our passions and in turn make this our vocation, that thing that people know us for and turn to us.

Ameeta Gangaram
For too often, I see business owners jumping in with an idea before really thinking it through and only having that one option that they’ve considered.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, sometimes this can work. I won’t deny that. However, more likely than not, it leaves you feeling panicked, stressed, and unclear of how to turn that idea into a real long term business opportunity where it earns you a profit.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s also leads to feeling or knowing that there’s more likely a chance that this idea isn’t actually warrant or did the market because the homework hasn’t been done.

Ameeta Gangaram
And if you’re only running on one idea, instead of considering several options and taking the best out of those options, you’re left stranded and really in a bit of a pickle.

Ameeta Gangaram
So when we’re looking at our business, and I know that business isn’t the only reason for us being here and it’s not our reason for being not the primary reason, but it is a driving force because so much of our lives are taken up by our business.

Ameeta Gangaram
Therefore, you want to ensure that your business motivates you and gets you out of bed every morning with the feeling of excitement.

Ameeta Gangaram
It needs to add to that sense of fulfillment in your life. That sum of all those joys needs to be part of your business.

Ameeta Gangaram
Ikigai, your reason for being can be looked at as four intersecting circles, a Venn diagram.

Ameeta Gangaram
If you’d like to see a visual representation of this, head to the show notes for the link.

Ameeta Gangaram
The first circle at the top is called What you Love. This is then intersected on the right hand side with what the world needs, and the bottom circle is what you can be paid for. And the last and fourth circle that intersects the three is what you’re good at.

Ameeta Gangaram
So I’m going to go into a bit more detail so you can understand how these four intersecting circles brings about understanding what your reason for being is.

Ameeta Gangaram
Let’s start with what you love. You probably already have the answer to this popping into your head as you listen to this podcast, and that’s great.

Ameeta Gangaram
Generally, we do know what it is. We love what we’re passionate about. It’s the thing that we can’t get enough of, and we’re all easily eager to learn more, broaden our horizons on this topic and ready to hone our skills and master this.

Ameeta Gangaram
What you love is what you get out of bed for before your alarm even goes off.

Ameeta Gangaram
I know that that’s me.

Ameeta Gangaram
However, sometimes it can also feel like you come up against fear of moving forward. However, something that Mel Robbins recently said on an Instagram post really resonated with me here.

Ameeta Gangaram
She said that it’s about having faith in yourself no matter what. Yes, there are days when you’re scared, but by putting one foot in front of the other, even when it feels uncomfortable, you just keep going anyway, moving you in the right direction. It’s this faith that will move you to where you do feel confident in your abilities.

Ameeta Gangaram
When you know what you love to do, then it’s easier to get through the days that are tough because you’re not going to give up.

Ameeta Gangaram
You’ve in here to make sure that this works for you, and giving up isn’t an option.

Ameeta Gangaram
When you’re doing something that you love, you don’t lose faith. You don’t lose motivation.

Ameeta Gangaram
You get through those days. There’s a real sense of satisfaction waiting on the other end when you’re aligned with this and when you accomplish it.

Ameeta Gangaram
So to help you along, I’ve got a few questions that you could ask yourself and this will help you to identify what it is you love if there’s any doubt with that.

Ameeta Gangaram
I know that when I have done this exercise with myself and with my clients, it hasn’t really surprised us.

Ameeta Gangaram
But it does give you a greater appreciation for your passions, and it also helps you to realize how to prioritize your day focusing on the things that you love.

Ameeta Gangaram
So the first question is when you look at your bookcase or your Kindle, if that’s what you’re into, what are the most common topics that you see on those shelves or on your Kindle?

Ameeta Gangaram
The second question to ask yourself is, If you’re upskilling or you love doing courses, what are the topics that draw you in the most?

Ameeta Gangaram
Look at how you spend your time.

Ameeta Gangaram
If you consider your time through the day where there are the top three things you spend most of your time on, You’ll know through identifying and answering these questions what it

Ameeta Gangaram
is that you are totally and fully committed to and you love. Think about what energizes you the most.

Ameeta Gangaram
Like I said, do you find yourself staying up late, absorbing content, reading books voraciously, or listening to YouTube channels, listening to podcasts on that topic?

Ameeta Gangaram
Do you feel excited and open to all the possibilities that run through your mind when you engrossed in this topic.

Ameeta Gangaram
If I take myself, for example, over the past 20 years, this passion and love has changed.

Ameeta Gangaram
I started off totally engrossed in naturopathy and complementary medicine. I remember that within my first year of study I would register for all the conferences that all the companies had.

Ameeta Gangaram
I just wanted to get out there and learn as much as I could so that I could do the best for the clients that I was going to see in the future.

Ameeta Gangaram
But as my businesses evolved in this industry, so did my passions and I found something new to ignite my spirit, which was business development and marketing.

Ameeta Gangaram
So much so that I’ve completely changed my career up skilled and launched a new business, Holistic Vision.

Ameeta Gangaram
I find myself really dreaming of ideas that I’d love to implement with my clients. I continuously write notes down all the time to the point where I’ve got a notebook on

Ameeta Gangaram
the side of my bedside table. So when I wake up, the first thing I do is write down any ideas or dreams or thoughts that have come to me.

Ameeta Gangaram
I find that those ideas are the things that really have helped me to become clear on what it is I love and making sure that that aligns with everything else.

Ameeta Gangaram
So if you’re not 100 percent clear on what you love, go through these questions that I’ve just mentioned.

Ameeta Gangaram
If you didn’t get a chance to write them down, that’s okay. I’ve popped them in the show notes for you as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
So next we move onto the second circle on the right hand side. What the world needs.

Ameeta Gangaram
Okay, so maybe not what the whole world needs, but what does the community and audience that you’ve drawn to work with need?

Ameeta Gangaram
Identifying this is crucial to the success of your visitors, because if you’re in the initial stages, you need to know who you’re going to be working with and what it is

Ameeta Gangaram
they really need. What are the problems that they’re going through? And if you’ve been in business for a few years, yeah, reassessing this is always important, especially in today’s times when

Ameeta Gangaram
things are changing. There’s so much fluidity in the market and the problems that people had even two years ago are not the same anymore.

Ameeta Gangaram
I’ve seen so many people have great ideas. However they haven’t identified if there’s a true need for it in the market.

Ameeta Gangaram
So find out from your community and go out there and understand what they’re actively looking for, solutions for.

Ameeta Gangaram
What are the problems that they’ve identified within themselves? Are they willing to pay for a solution?

Ameeta Gangaram
If there’s no market, there’s no business, right? And you’re here to run a business to make a profit and to fulfil your deeper needs.

Ameeta Gangaram
How are you going to get a result for this audience? It’s an important question to ask yourself.

Ameeta Gangaram
And so to help you to navigate this one, I’d suggest to do some validation calls with a group of people that you feel fit your ideal audience.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now, there’s a number of ways that you can find these people, and once you’ve identified them, identify what their current pain points are, where their source of information is from, why they’re struggling to find solutions, and how ready are they for change? If you’d love my cheat cheat of questions to help you to identify your ideal client and ask them the right questions so that you know exactly how to position yourself in doing what you love. For those that need it most.

Ameeta Gangaram
The link is in the show notes as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
Next we move on to what you can be paid for is what you love, doing a viable business opportunity.

Ameeta Gangaram
Like I was saying before, it’s great to have an idea, but can you be paid for it?

Ameeta Gangaram
From a professional standpoint? What do you bring to the table that will make your offer unique and irresistible to your audience?

Ameeta Gangaram
Competition is hard out there and you need to make sure that the way that you position yourself and package your offer really is irresistible and unique.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s not about reinventing the wall. It’s about putting your own personal spin on it.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now the topic of money, as polarizing as it can be, is the vehicle to giving ourselves and our loved ones the life that we hope for and dream for.

Ameeta Gangaram
Being in business is about driving you financial security. So it’s time to ask some serious questions.

Ameeta Gangaram
And in the Chicot I mentioned earlier. This is the exact tool that will help you to identify what you need to do in order to help these audiences that you’ve targeted.

Ameeta Gangaram
And how are you going to position yourself to stand out from the crowd?

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s packed with questions that will help you to have honest and open conversations with people who you think May fit your audience and who you want to work with.

Ameeta Gangaram
And you might also realize through their answers that maybe this isn’t the audience for you, but if it is, their answers will be invaluable in helping you know exactly what words

Ameeta Gangaram
to use in your messaging, how to phrase your offer, and how to launch your offer with solutions that are fit to their pain points.

Ameeta Gangaram
As I said, download the resource via Holistic Vision.com, forward slash, niche, or head to the show notes for the link.

Ameeta Gangaram
And that brings us to the last circle, which is what you’re good at.

Ameeta Gangaram
This makes up the fourth circle of your ikigai, your reason for being. It’s why most people choose you above others in your profession.

Ameeta Gangaram
So take a moment and think about the positive feedback you get. What is this for? What do people ask you questions about?

Ameeta Gangaram
What do they send you DMs for? Correlate this and just think about it, even for a moment, even if you don’t write it all down.

Ameeta Gangaram
But there will be a common theme through this. I’m sure what you’re good at results in you taking your profession and turning it into your vocation so that people, no, and are drawn to you specifically.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s what’ll come naturally to you. It doesn’t take much thought, does it? I’m sure that you’ve got it already there at the tip of your tongue.

Ameeta Gangaram
There should be a balance here, though, from what you love and what you’re good at, because there are times definitely when the two don’t align and you May be good at it, for example, and think that Okay, so I’m good at this. My profession needs to be in it, but you might actually be passionate about art.

Ameeta Gangaram
How can you align those two and create a business model based on that? Such a recap and discovering your Ikigai, your reason for being, should be at the top of your list because it’s from here that you’ll be able to formulate your plan for your business and your personal life.

Ameeta Gangaram
Here you’ll be able to create steps that you’ll take to make sure that this happens. Nothing will stand in your way.

Ameeta Gangaram
Yes, as I said, there will be tough days, but you will not give up because it’s in total alignment with everything that you stand for and believe in and that you love and you’re good at.

Ameeta Gangaram
You’ve identified that there is a need for it. So now it’s just a matter of going through the motions.

Ameeta Gangaram
Taking the steps and pushing through. Aligning those passions with your mission in life is going to bring out a sense of fulfillment, happiness, and contentment that your life deserves.
