Low and welcome to the Simple Marketing Solutions Podcast. In this episode we will be discussing the different channels and strategies for reaching your ideal clients and how to tailor your approach for each one.

Ameeta Gangaram
Last week we delved deep into understanding who your ideal client is. So now this is step to on where to find your perfect clients. So in this we need to start understanding where they hang out.

Ameeta Gangaram
Where do we go to find these clients where they act both online and offline? What are the platforms that they go to for resources and information? It’s really essential to figure this out, because when we’re looking at trying to date new clients, if we’re feeling overwhelmed and we feel like our business isn’t moving forward fast enough, then we do need to take this step back and start looking at where our clients really are and not just assuming that we know this.

Ameeta Gangaram
So some of the offline channels and I like to come back to offline channels because I think that in this digital age we sometimes forget the value in using or flying channels such as local events, workshops, meetups, conferences that you attend, and even expos.

Ameeta Gangaram
I know that I’ve used expos for my business in the past with great success and the way that you can use this as an opportunity can be more for building relationships, getting to know more about your clients and the challenges that they face, the thing and the needs that they’re looking to be addressed, rather than you trying to sell your services in an expo, for example.

Ameeta Gangaram
So use it as an opportunity to start building that network and trying to ask the right questions, gain more insights and take notes, you know, have your phone there and take notes once you’ve had a conversation with somebody.

Ameeta Gangaram
But Expos can be a great lead generation. If you’ve got a great lead magnet, you could use that opportunity to get people’s email addresses and have an open conversation at the same time.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now we all do know the online channels, but I will just reiterate because sometimes we forget one. So you know things like your Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Linkedin is a big one as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
And also don’t forget that you can reach your clients and more of them through your website, your email database and online advertising as well. Things like podcasts like this one, You know, if people are listening to the podcast, you can share the podcast episode with other people in your network that may find it valuable.

Ameeta Gangaram
Or if you’ve heard something you can let people know, or people that are listening to it can let others know about the podcast and what they gain value from that episode. So those are some of the online channels that you can use.

Ameeta Gangaram
And the step and step with online channels is to start leveraging your social media so that you’re connecting in with your ideal client. Now this I find is so crucial and really probably the thing that sets you apart on social media when you’re doing this the right way.

Ameeta Gangaram
And this is creating social media that resonates with your ideal client. It needs to contain your brand voice and messaging. It needs to share value that your audience wants and needs to hear.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s no use just posting on the fly and thinking that you’re doing it because you need to do it. It’s about looking at it as a plan and back

Ameeta Gangaram
in planning in detail. So if you haven’t listened to that episode, head back to episode 2 for more others and there’s a great resource in there as well where you can start utilizing social media to your benefit and not post randomly.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now I want to also just provide some tips so that you can start using social media more effectively. And if you listened to last week’s episode Number 34, we talked about who your ideal client is and how you can go about finding out who that client is.

Ameeta Gangaram
So getting back to researching that client, finding out what their interests are, their challenges and their needs, because you want to create an offer that speaks to this. Use hashtags to reach a wider audience.

Ameeta Gangaram
And also I wanted to point out with hashtags. There’s a lot of stuff going on about do put hashtags, dot put hashtags, how many to put. What I would say to you is just start using them to start seeing what works because the more you use it and the more consistency that you have with your social media, which is in the next point.

Ameeta Gangaram
That’s when you’re going to start to be able to see the trends. Don’t forget to engage now. This is something that I see all the time with clients and with people that I come in contact with.

Ameeta Gangaram
That they’ll put something on social media and people will put comments or send them a direct message and then they don’t reply. The key with social media is that it is social.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s not a one way street. It is there for both you and the person on the other end, reading or watching your videos on listening to your podcast to respond and connect and build a relationship.

Ameeta Gangaram
I’ve gotten some of my best clients simply through that. And also don’t forget that when you’re trying to build relationships with your ideal clients, there are some tips that I can share for that as well.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now when you are attending local events and meetups, be clear with your pitch of who you are and who you work with. Now have that clearly defined so that when somebody comes up to you and they ask you, you know, tell me a bit about yourself.

Ameeta Gangaram
You have its distinct in a couple of sentences, so it’s clear and they know exactly who your ideal client is from that and it may not be them, but they will have that in their memory to be able to refer somebody that they know then to you in the future.

Ameeta Gangaram
Also, you know when you’re networking with people. Provide value, share your knowledge, share your expertise, and use your blogs, your webinars, your podcast episodes to share that value. Refer people back. I will often, you know, be having a conversation with somebody, and they’ll be saying that, you know, I’ve been really struggling with understanding how to use social media.

Ameeta Gangaram
And I’ll say, you know, listen to episode two of the podcast. Because in the podcast episode I break that down and I give you the simple strategies and a content plan calendar that you can use to start getting clear with your messaging on social media and become more consistent so you can use it that way.

Ameeta Gangaram
The other thing is another type I love to remind people of is don’t forget about collaboration. Collaboration with other businesses can be a real opportunity for you to tap into their audience and for them to tap into yours.

Ameeta Gangaram
It’s a great way of reaching more people without a huge amount of effort. Now, in episode 4 of this podcast I had Tanya Simpson who went into a whole lot of detail because she is the queen of collaboration.

Ameeta Gangaram
So if you do want more information on that specifically, head to episode 4. And the other thing is following up with potential clients. So yesterday I had the great opportunity to meet somebody new, and we had a coffee and a chat.

Ameeta Gangaram
And just because I had mentioned to her in our previous meeting that I told her clearly what I do and who I work with, that resonated with her. And that’s why she reached out to have a coffee with me yesterday.

Ameeta Gangaram
And from that she remembered that I do web design for service based businesses, and that was why she wanted to connect with me. Because she needs a website. So you never know where you sharing your pitch of who you work with and your ideal client and the needs that you address and lead to.

Ameeta Gangaram
It can open up opportunities so quickly for you. If you do have somebody that shows interest, follow up with a call, follow up with an email. Get in touch with them so that you stay top of mind so when they’re ready, then they can reach out to you.

Ameeta Gangaram
