But before we dive in, I wanted to just do a quick recap of our previous episodes in the Business Growth Hacks series. In the previous episodes, we covered topics around understanding your ideal client, researching your competition, and how to do that.

Ameeta Gangaram
We also discussed how to differentiate yourself in the market. We then moved on from knowing what your point of difference is of how to package your services and products so that it is clear that you’re addressing your client’s needs and problems in a unique way.

Ameeta Gangaram
So now that you’ve got your ideal client in mind and you’ve packaged those services in a way that meets their needs, how do you actually go about getting people to buy these packages?

Ameeta Gangaram
And that’s exactly the question we will be answering today, my friend. So hang in there for an episode that’s going to give you five simple points to follow. We are going to be discussing a content plan that will help you to engage with your audience and get them coming back for more.

Ameeta Gangaram
So let’s get straight into those five steps that are going to help you to grow your business sustainably in a struggling economy, and it starts with that content plan for your business.

Ameeta Gangaram
Step one is determine the content types that you want. So say if you are a nutritionist, what ways or what types of content do you want to put out there that are going to help to educate your audience about the natural remedies that you offer, the nutritional supplements that you work with, the testing that you offer, and the benefits that everything that you provide from their meal plans, their weekly shopping lists to the nutritional supplements have in terms of creating that positive change and healing in their daily lives.

Ameeta Gangaram
You may also want to consider content types that showcase your expertise. So if you’ve done extra educational training and upskilled specifically to your niche, whether you be specializing in, say, for example, gut health that one of my clients does, she has done a heap of extra training and courses to become an expert in knowing exactly how to treat people that are dealing with deep-seated gut conditions that are now eventuating into showcasing as symptoms of mental health issues such as ADHD and anxiety or depression.

Ameeta Gangaram
How are you going to showcase your expertise? How are you going to present case studies or examples of success stories that are going to attract an audience and let them know that you do know what you’re talking about.

Ameeta Gangaram
You have the experience, you’ve gotten results, and you are the person that can help them. Step two, once you’ve started to look at the content types that you want to cover, is the frequency of your content.

Ameeta Gangaram
How often do you want to be creating your main piece of content? This is really important to identify because it’s going to allow you to keep in mind that consistency that we sometimes forget about and we think, okay, I’m going to commit to once a week putting out a blog post and then life catches up and you get busy and then you don’t do it for a few months and then you think, oh my god, okay, I haven’t been writing my blog post, let me get back to it again.

Ameeta Gangaram
If you can’t commit to the frequency of once a week, then think about a fortnightly piece of main content and when I talk about a main piece of content, I’m talking about something that has substance to it.

Ameeta Gangaram
So it could be a blog post if you like writing, it could be a vlog, so if you’re more comfortable with presenting, then you could record yourself and record a video blog that you post on your videos there.

Ameeta Gangaram
Another option could be a podcast. So there’s several ways of creating that main piece of content each week or each fortnight for your business. You could even do it as a monthly piece of content, but remember that this piece of content is going to drive all your other social media and digital marketing content.

Ameeta Gangaram
So there needs to be enough substance in there to allow for that. Once you’ve decided on that frequency that you want to follow, then it’s a matter of creating that content calendar.

Ameeta Gangaram
This is really important because now you’ve got the content type, you’ve got the frequency, and you can start mapping out what the next few months are going to look like for your content.

Ameeta Gangaram
It really helps to stay organized and you know exactly where you are each week, each fortnight, each month. And it means that you can use something as simple as a Google Sheet or Trello as a content calendar, or even Canva that you can use to map everything out, stay on track, have the publication dates, and then just be scheduling all of that content.

Ameeta Gangaram
Remember the next step, number four, is to repurpose your content. So you’ve got that main piece of content. For example, you’ve written a blog about using herbs for getting a better night’s sleep when you’re struggling with night sweats, for example.

Ameeta Gangaram
Now you’ve written the blog post about that. You’re going to take pieces of that blog post and repurpose that on your social media. So you could create a carousel. You could create a static post that has a caption about one of those herbs that you talk about.

Ameeta Gangaram
You could then also create several reels that then discuss pieces of that blog post. And at the end of each of those pieces of content, you’re pushing people to the blog post, getting them to click on it and read the rest of the post, because that drives traffic to your website or to your YouTube channel or your podcast channel.

Ameeta Gangaram
This way, you’re getting people engaged in the content on social media and taking them from that onto your own personal platform. The next is, don’t forget that all-important email list that you’ve got, whether you’ve got 30 people on your email list or 2,000, utilize that list.

Ameeta Gangaram
These are people that have shared their email addresses. They may be current clients, past clients or people that are interested in what you have. So use this list to send out a regular newsletter, letting people know, hey, I’ve got a new blog post.

Ameeta Gangaram
I’ve got my new podcast episode. Here’s the link. These are some of the key things that you’ll learn when you read the blog post or listen to the podcast episode. Engage them in that email and ask them a question.

Ameeta Gangaram
Get them to respond and reply to you so that you can see that they are reading it. It’s really important to have that clear call to action at the end of everything that you do, whether it be at the end of your blog post, whether it be at the end of your social media posts or your email newsletter.

Ameeta Gangaram
Ask something, tell people something that they need to now do. That is your call to action. Download my free resource where you can get more information about how to do this, for example.

Ameeta Gangaram
So those are the five steps. I’m just going to quickly recap them. Number one was to determine the content type that you wanted to produce. Number two, your frequency. Number three, creating the content calendar.

Ameeta Gangaram
And number four, repurposing that main content on your social media platforms. Number five, all important, is share your content with your email list, no matter what size your email list is. Don’t forget that call to action at the end.

Ameeta Gangaram
